Getting down to the wire....
Hello fellow classmates. Guess what ? Yep....we had another meeting last night. Go figure.
In attendance last night was Rick Silagyi, Terry Barthelengi Lindsay, Irene, Tsotsoros Lahr, Diane Brewster Smith, Danette Shockloss Green, Danny Mech, Bob Murkin, Steve "Rat" Lange, and yours truly.
Rob Tilton was not there in body but in spirit. There goes his perfect attendance record. Off to Mr. Knakal's office with you and we will be calling your parents.
Anyway, we are going over final details and making sure all bases are covered at this point.
If you have any special requests or needs, now is the time to ask.
If you are going to the reunion, now is the time to pay for you bid(s).
The enthusiasm is building and your classmates are excited. We are half way to our anticipated goal in just one week and I know a bunch of you that said you are going so please help us out and send in your payment now.
At some point next month we will be expanding our guest list and inviting fellow Mahwah Alumni who have shown interest and may want to join us that night.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

1 Year later......
Hey Gang,
Yep....1 year ago we started the process of organizing our 30 Year Reunion. Overkill ? I think not. As we were watching Tom Zarcone organize the Class of 81' reunion, we figured it was time to start planning.
Our planning started with of all places ....Facebook. Boy have times changed. A committee was organized and we started our first meeting last July and every month thereafter. The topics may have seemed repetative at times however really it was fine tuning each issue and we got to see each other more often than normal.
As we ajourned last night's meeting, Danette, Terry, Diane and myself continued our conversation in the parking lot and with 3 plus months to go, mentioned how sad we were going to be once it was all over as we truly will miss seeing each other every month. So a post reunion meeting is in order for reflection and to officially close out all reunion details. I think I'm going to suggest at least 1 mini-reunion each year as we have done in the past.
Alright enough of that for now.
It was a beautiful night out last night so we took advantage of the outdoor patio at the Mahwah Bar & Grill. In attendance last night was Robert Tilton, Theresa Barthelengi Lindsay, Robert Murkin, Rick Silagyi, Diane Brewster Smith, Danette Shockloss Green, Daniel Mech and yours truly.
Topics discussed were...
1) Bids - We are accepting payment at this time. I know we are all in the middle of vacations however please take a moment to contact one of our committee members and let them know your intention on attending the reunion by SEPTEMBER 1ST. We need to get an accurate head count for planning purposes to ensure a successful reunion on all levels.
PAYMENT IS DUE BY OCTOBER 1ST.
2) Missing Classmates - No classmate left behind....Well we hope not. We have done our best to contact each classmate directly or indirectly. With todays tools on the internet, we've done a pretty good job of putting it out there and reaching out for all to be aware of our plans. I'm going to update this list once again and hope that those we have not contacted but might be interested in their 30 year reunion might take a moment to look and see if there is anything being planned. We are easy to find.
So we ask once again that you all take a look at the list and if there is anyone on this list you may have any level of contact with, that you make that effort and inform any committee member you have done so and we will then remove them from the list.
3) Menu - We have solidified our Menu keeping in mind some Vegan choices as well. Any special requests, now is the time to ask.
4) Invitation - Since we have been extremely thorough in contacting all classmates through many avenues, and many of the addresses from the 20 year reunion are no longer valid, we decided not to send out a hard copy of the invite. We believe everyone with exception to those on the "Missing List" is aware of our plans.
5) DJ - A DJ's services have been secured for our reunion. Anyone interested in checking him out can go to his website.
http://hollywoodshak.podomatic.com/entry/2011-01-19T08_54_26-08_00
6) Video - We have put together a small collage of pictures along with some video, put together by your reunion committee to show you how committed we are to this reunion and to have a little fun. You can find it on the home page.
Let us know if you have any questions.
I hope you all have a safe and happy summer.
Your classmate,
Ed Postolowski

Reunion Meeting - Invitation, Menu, DJ, .....
Hello fellow classmates.
Yes, another meeting. Doesn't that just give you the warm fuzzies (Ms. Merluzzo ? or was that Mr. Sterling ). We are working hard to make this reunion the best so far.
In attendance tonight......Irene Tsotsoros Lahr, Diane Brewster Smith, Danette Schockloss Green, Rick Silagyi, Robert "Too Tall" Tilton, and yours truly.
Tonight we once again covered the last 19 missing classmates. We took to the internet and printed out our best leads and handed them out to each other so put this one to bed. Please do us a favor and look at the Missing Classmates page. If you have a lead, follow through and let us know.
http://www.mahwah82.com/3/miscellaneous3.htm
The last thing we want to hear is we didn't make an effort to contact each and everyone. 11 months later we certainly can say we have.
The invitation will be posted next week on this website and sent via email broadcast, facebook, etc.. This means we need to start seeing payments. You have up to September 1st to RSVP and October 1st to pay in full. Any questions, now is the time to ask.
We went over the menu again and picked out what we thought were the best choices keeping Vegetarians in mind as well. Any special requests need to be heard now.
A DJ will be providing some music for the night. We are also working hard on a slide show of old pictures and some new ones. Any pictures you would like to offer up, please send them to Danette Schockloss Green
home@mgreenfamily.net
Thanks for checking in.

Missing Classmates List is dwindling.........
Hello my fellow Thunderbirds,
Another successful meeting took place last night. In attendance were Rob Tilton, Dannette Schockloss Green, Rick Silagi, Kevin Maloney, Diane Brewster Smith along with hubby John, and Chatty Kathy himself....Dan the man Mech.
As always with every meeting our first topic is missing classmates.
We want to make sure we do all we can to make contact with each classmate and inform them our our reunion plans. A few of you have stepped up and helped out and for that we are thankful. However, there are still a few left. Please take a moment to look at this list and if you have any degree of seperation to one of our missing classmates, reach out and see if you can make contact. Once you have, let us know and we'll remove them from our list. Once this list is complete, all of our efforts will be focused on November.
Last night's discussion also involved "The invitation". To save money, the invitation will only be posted on our website and not mailed. Quite frankly it's been difficult to get everyone's address. It will be broadcasted on the website, via Facebook, etc.. You all know the date already but felt it was important to have an invitation as well.
The invitation will be posted in June and remember all funds need to be collected by October 1st, 2012.
Since the establishment will be closed to the general public that night, there will be a guest list at the door the night of the reunion and if you're not on the list, you'll have a hard time getting in because we will be belly up at the bar and won't be able to hear or see you from there. :) We too want to enjoy the night, a night we are working hard to provide so timely payment is appreciated.
Did I mention we are accepting payments now ??
Other topics included "The Menu". Buffet style dinner with served appetizers and while we are being Vegan conscious, any special requests need to be heard as we intend to finalize the menu next month.
Currently working on locking up the DJ. Also planning a slideshow of the yearbook, previous reunions, old photos. If you have any to offer up, please email them to Dianerose64@yahoo.com and we'll include them.
One of the reasons we liked this particular weekend as it coincides with our annual Turkey Bowl. Of course the planets need to align properly for this to happen, but this would give us a Day 2 of the reunion where we can take in a football game the day after whether it is in Ramsey or Mahwah this year. And if we are not so lucky this year, then we are a pretty creative bunch and will figure something out.
Thanks for checking in. Again any special requests or needs, let us know.

Our 8th Reunion Meeting in 9 months.....looking good.
Hello fellow Thunderbirds,
We meet again last night for our 8th meeting in 9 months and if you are keeping tabs you will see we are doing a thorough job at tackling all aspects of the reunion. One of the spouses stated "This better be the best damn reunion ever" in regards to us meeting so much and it will be.
In attendance last night was Irene Lahr, Theresa Linsday, Danette Green, Diane Smith, Rick Silagyi, Robert Tilton, Dan Mech, Ed Postolowski and special guests Jennifer Weinstein, Jim Toy and James Lambert. Great to see you guys.
Our count of classmates signed up to the website is currently at 82. The price of our bid is also $82. You can't make this stuff up. It's a sign of good things to come.
While I know some are reluctant to sign up to yet another website in this cyber-world we live in, no worries. Do what is comfortable for you. Don't get us wrong, we'd love to see you on our website and all information is not displayed or shared so we are doing our part in confidentiality and if you are on the fence, you shouldn't be concerned with this website as your information is also password protected.
Last nights meeting involved our most popular topic....missing classmates. We have reached out to many channels yet there are still a good amount of classmates that still need to be contacted. Take a look at the "Missing Classmates" tab and see if you can help the committee track one, two or more of them down and inform them of our plans in November.
If you reach one or more, just let anyone on the committee know you have made contact and we can remove them from this list.
We also discussed the Invitation. The idea with the invitation is to list it on the website for all to see and will be sent in an email broadcast as we get closer, probably some time in June. For those not on the website, we will try getting this to you via other means, such as Facebook or the Post Office but we cannot get it to you if we do not have your address. Keep in mind, the bids can be paid for at anytime and options are offered on the "Buy Reunion Bid" tab on this website or even mailing a check to us.
The Yearbook. Finally. I had started this and hit a wall about half way through. Diane Smith took on the task and scanned her yearbook. Thank you Diane !!!! I am putting the photos together into one file and will post it on this website for viewing and downloading for those who may have lost theirs.
We have some other things we are working on for the reunion. Stay tuned.
Finally there was some concern with the size of our venue and if we would be sharing with regular customers. If we get 100 people to come, the entire restaurant is ours regardless of the time of the year or night it is on. Based upon the feedback, I am confident we will reach this number.

Another successful meeting took place last night. Those in attendance were Rob Tilton, Rick Silagi, Diane Brewster Smith, Bob Murken, Dan Mech and myself.
Right now the focus is on the missing classmates. We went through the list one by one and tried to establish an indirect point of contact for each missing classmate. Please visit our "Missing Classmates" page to see the updated list. If anyone can help us in tracking people down, or at least letting them know about the reunion in November, we would deeply appreciate it. If you do make contact with someone, then kindly share this with us so we can remove them from our list.
There were some concerns from classmates on how much visibilty they would be exposed to by signing up on the website. Maybe one does not want their email address or phone number listed. No problem. I have minimized the required fields. We still need your phone and email to contact you but now it now longer will be visible on the website unless you want.
8 months plus and counting. It will be here before you know it. So our here is our checklist.
- Check out the list of missing classmates and help us contact them then let us know when you do.
- Pay for you bid. Yes you have time but you can do it right now too.
- Send some old photos if you have them. We have some special projects in the works.
- Special requests. If you have any concerns, please let us know. Contact anyone of the committe members and we'll do our best to accomodate.
Thanks everyone.

- Payments are now accepted online or the old fashion way. See the "Buy Reunion Tab" for multiple options. Now is the time for any special requests.

Holiday Reunion Meeting
December 14th 2011
Our Holiday meeting was festive to say the least. In attendance were Tim Stahl, Dan Mech, Rick Silagi, Kevin Maloney, Robert Tilton, Bob Murken, Diane Brewster, Denise Plumstead, Danette Shockloss, Terry Barthelengi, Ed Postolowski and special guest Robert "Roscoe" Collins spreading his Holiday cheer.
We also got to see Marc Morgan who was having his Christmas party in the next room. Marc is involved with (CERT) Community Emergency Response Team, a program that educates people about disaster preparedness. Well done Marc.
While the focus of tonights meeting was not to focus too much on the reunion but enjoy each others company as we do so well, we did go over a few things.
Bob Murken brought in his old Class of 1982 tee shirt at the last meeting. Last night Diane Brewster brought in her girl version of that tee shirt. This sparked some talk about possibly remaking these tees and offering them up for sale. Weigh in and let us know if you would be interested.
Diane's husband has also offered to do a slide show of the yearbook. If you have any old photos you would like to share, please send them to dianerose64@yahoo.com
Rob Tilton and his minion had some suggestions on new questions for the Quiz page. While I'm sure it would create a surge in clicks for the website, after watching the girls blush, I"m not sure that Mr. Knakal would appreciate it.
We did review a list of names of classmates still not yet reached and informed on our reunion plans.
As of today we have 60 classmates signed up to the website. There seems to be some reluctancy from some to want to sign up and I get it.
Please understand that we have no intent to use or distribute any information. As a matter of fact, the only required information is your name an email address or phone number if you choose. If your choice is not to sign up we respect your decision. We kindly ask you inform one person on the committee of your wishes and mostly confirm that you are aware of the reunion plans.
Help us out and reach out to any names you see on the Missing Classmates page. All we ask is a confirmation that each classmate has been contacted and informed of the reunion plans. Ideally, signing up to this website would be great but we'll take what we can get.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.
