We like to party, this is true, We're the class of 82'
Well we did it. 30 years later and still kicking.
The reunion was a blast and I still can't believe it is behind us already. And I thought 7 hours might be too long.
The committee wants to thank you all for what turned out to be a great time. Tilt on the bar, Haines in rare form, Denise on the hunt and the sweater club and no one got hurt.
We want to thank John Christian and Karen Wiley for generously donating back a large portion of the 50/50 winnings. Because the their generosity and yours, the Mahwah Class of 1982 was able to raise a total of $507.00 for our local charity The Mahwah Elves, a volunteer group in town helping those in need.
We also received $143 in donations for the "Fight for Frank" fund, a charity helping another Mahwah Alumni and his fight to get healthy. Thanks Danny Mech for putting that together. And finally two bags of canned goods for the local food bank. Well done.
It was good to see a couple of our teachers, Mr. Dennis O'connor and Mrs. Barbara Fernicola as well as some other Mahwah Alumni that joined in on the festivities.
Moving forward I'm a bit sad that the committee no longer has a need to meet every month. I'm going to miss you guys. Let's do what we can to get together once in a while.
With that we are hoping we do not have to wait another 10 years for a gathering and hoping to a casual get together in the fall working around the annual Mahwah/Ramsey football game. Stay tuned.
This website will be up for another 2 years after that, who knows. We will continue the Class facebook page as well as that one as of now still is free.
Please take a moment to share and upload your photos from the reunion. A few folders have been created for this. 100 maximum per folder so if we need more, just let me know.
I hope you all received a copy of the DVD. If not let me know as well.
I forsee a future DVD down the road. "The Lost Tapes". John Smith, husband of Diane Brewster Smith took much video of that night. Maybe more than some would care to see.
Reunion planning committee featured in the Mahwah Patch...
You guys will love these trailers. Diane Brewster Smith scanned many many photos and Danette Shockloss Green has put in a lot of time on this project and the both should be commended.
They certainly set the mood for the reunion so take a moment and enjoy them.
